Samantha Womack: baby plot was implausible

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Former EastEnders star Samantha Womack has admitted that the controversial storyline in which her character Ronnie Mitchell snatched Kat Moon’s baby was not ‘realistic’.

The plot, in which Ronnie swapped Kat’s son for her own after he died of cot death, was one of the most complained about in the soap’s history.

However speaking to the Mirror the actress said, “I thought it was implausible. Most women who lose a child would not go out and abduct one,” she says. “But Ronnie is a soap character and she is not necessarily representing real life.

“Soap is based on controversy and sensationalism because bosses are trying to get high ratings and they can’t write things like ‘Ronnie had a cup of tea’. Otherwise people wouldn?t watch it.”

The storyline eventually culminated in Ronnie leaving Albert Square after she was sent to prison, but Samantha – who is now touring the UK in the musical South Pacific – has denied she quit in protest at the public reaction.

“It was emotionally and physically exhausting,” she confessed. “It was the right time for Ronnie to be put to bed. I also left because you can end up being typecast.

“If you want to do good work, you have to take yourself out of your comfort zone. It was very frightening leaving a job that I got on so well in and it did feel like a very big risk.”

Taylor Swift Busts Out a Bright Blue Dress to Talk Love on The Tonight Show

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Taylor Swift brought a pop of color to The Tonight Show yesterday. She chatted with Jay Leno about being “stupid” when it comes to love and also touched on her upcoming animated feature, Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, which hits theaters on March 2. Taylor joined costar Zac Efron at the premiere of the movie on Sunday in LA, where Zac praised her for being “absolutely wonderful.” The duo got back together for press in an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that airs today. Zac and Taylor cleared up rumors that they are dating and pulled out their guitars for a funny duet. Zac didn’t address his reported relationship with Lily Collins, though he did say that he spent Valentine’s Day making dinner “with a friend.” He also shared a picture of himself getting a new tattoo, his third, while wearing Ellen underwear.

Mariah Carey on Whitney Huston?s funeral: ?it was gorgeous?

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

She was one of the first celebrities to voice her sadness over Whitney Houston?s death, and just over a week on from the tragic event emotions were obviously still running high for Mariah Carey when she talked about the singer?s passing on Good Morning America.

The songstress arrived at the programme?s NY studios earlier dressed all in black and when probed about Whitney?s death she obviously found it hard to fight back the tears, however she said:

“I’m almost incapable of talking about this still. It’s very heavy emotionally.”

Talking about her friendship with the star she went onto say:

“It was great and I don’t think people could ever understand our relationship. There was always this supposed rivalry in the beginning and then we did the duet and we became friends, I saw her toward the end and you know I loved her. We all loved her and were inspired by her.?

Mariah was also one of the attendees at Whitney?s funeral in New Jersey over the weekend, an experience she describes as ?beautiful?, saying:

?It was gorgeous, such a class act the way she went out and the way her family dealt with it, I was very moved and it was beautiful.”

Leah from Teen Mom 2 proves she is a class act

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

“Teen Mom 2″ star Leah Messer was brutally attacked by 3 women outside of a movie theater in West Virginia this weekend … multiple sources tell TMZ.

19-year-old Leah is telling friends and family … she had just left the theater with her fiance Sunday night when an older woman began following her and calling her names.

We’re told Leah insists she tried to tell the woman to leave her alone … when 2 other girls appeared out of nowhere and the three chicks opened a can of whoopass all over Leah’s face.

Sources say Leah’s fiance, and a security guard, managed to pull the three women off the MTV star … and got out of the area.

TMZ obtained a photo of Leah’s face following the brawl … which shows a swollen cheek and redness on her neck and chest.

We’re told Leah did not recognize any of her attackers … but Leah’s mother has since gone to Twitter in an effort to try and identify the assailants.

Sources say Leah plans to follow up with police later today to file a report.

Then here is her report on the fight to one of her friends sites…

Last night, after seeing a movie with her boyfriend, Leah was heckled by a group of girls shouting things like, ?There?s that anorexic bitch Leah from Teen Mom.? After numerous attempts to get her attention, she looked back at them to see what their problem was. When she did, they fired back ?Do you have a staring problem??

Leah & Jeremy made it back to the truck and were getting ready to pull out of their parking spot when one of the girls charged the vehicle, yelling ?F*ck you Leah? among other things. And shouted at her to get out of the truck.

Pissed and red with rage, Leah swung the truck door open and went after the girl. They fought for a minute before one of the girl?s friends joined in and started punching Leah. As if 2 on 1 wasn?t enough, the 3rd girl joined in and attacked Leah. At that point, Jeremy & a security guard went in and broke up the fight.

No one knows who the 3 girls were, but Leah?s mom is offering a monetary reward to anyone who has any information about who they were or why they were targeting Leah, last night.

Leah says that she knows that getting physical was not the answer, but that in the heat of the moment, she got carried away.

She received no major injuries and is feeling fine today, aside from some left over anger from last nights happenings.

Charlie Brooks to take break from EastEnders

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Charlie Brooks is set to take a six-month break from EastEnders.

The 30-year-old, who plays pregnant villainess Janine Butcher on the BBC soap, will wave farewell to Walford in August, after giving birth on the small screen.

“I’ve got six months off in August, so we’re having the bump, but I won’t have to deal with prams and stuff in extra small doors on the set,” she told The Sun.

There are rumours that the actress is planning to compete on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing, following her triumph on the Christmas special.

Charlie previously admitted: “It would be fantastic to do the whole show, but EastEnders is a six days a week job. I’ve seen how difficult it is to juggle both, but it would be an amazing opportunity.”

An EastEnders spokeswoman confirmed that the star would be off screens for a short while, but didn’t comment on the Strictly reports.

“Charlie will be taking a break from EastEnders later this year. Over the coming months, there will be a lot of unexpected twists and turns, and the story is bound to be explosive,” she said.

Charlie Sheen: I?m Sorry, Ashton!

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

He?s no stranger to speaking first and thinking later, and Charlie Sheen is looking to make amends for some inflammatory remarks he made last week.

The ?Hot Shots? actor called into ?TMZ Live? and publicly took shots at his old show ?Two and a Half Men,? as well as Ashton Kutcher, the actor who replaced him.

Sheen ranted, ?I?m tired of lying… I?m tired of pretending the show doesn?t suck… I?m tired of pretending Ashton doesn?t suck.?

Now that he?s had some time to think about it, Charlie issued an apology to Kutcher that reads- ?Dear Ashton,

My bad. I was disrespectful to a man doing his best. I got excited and threw you into the crossfire, but the rest of my statement I stand behind. You however, deserve better. Safety in your travels good sir, CS.?

‘The Bachelor’ Recap: Homeward Bound and Gagged

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off
Ben’s been going through the motions all season, and this week, someone finally calls him on it, kinda. Thank goodness for protective parents. Too bad Kacie’s dad couldn’t convince his daughter not to participate in this lady-auction in the first place.

Of course, the ultimate irony (wait, is that the right word? or is the right word “stupidity”?) of this week is that this is when things are supposed to get SERIOUS and every single conversation turns to MARRIAGE, and yet Ben has clearly never been seriously interested in marrying anyone here, except maybe for Courtney — the only contestant deluded or insane or manipulative enough to stage a fake wedding as part of her hometown date, thereby further bastardizing, mocking and diluting the already bastardized, diluted mockery of marriage that IS The Bachelor. And, in a weird twist, she comes off as more likable for it?

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s make like Ben and breeze through these dates, using our hair curtains and cynicism as shields against the elements:

Gwyneth Paltrow Sells Frozen Food. But Will She Eat It?

Gwyneth Paltrow “would rather die” than let her kids eat a cup-a-soup, but she’s happy to hawk processed food for a price.

The actress and cookbook author is the new spokesperson for SPAR Veggie, an Austrian a frozen food brand. A tipster familiar with the company, described it to the blog Videogum, this way: “In terms of quality, Spar is the equivalent of a convenience store attached to a gas station. You might buy gum there, but you wouldn’t buy Spar-brand gum, or Spar-brand anything for that matter.”

It’s not unusual for a Hollywood superstar to advertise international products they wouldn’t stand behind in the States. But Paltrow is particularly outspoken when it comes to fresh food. She’s extolled the virtues of juice fasts, organic colonics and backyard wood-burning pizza ovens worth several thousand dollars. She’s compared eating processed cheese to smoking crack and banned soda and McDonald’s from ever crossing her kids’ lips.

Still, the honchos at SPAR think Paltrow’s a perfect fit for their frozen food brand.
“She lives the idea of SPAR Veggie,” Dr. Gerhard Drexel, President of SPAR Austria, says in an oddly translated press release. “Gwyneth Paltrow credibly embodies today’s modern and health conscious woman, integrating meat-less dishes into her lifestyle, not every day but every now and then.”

Paltrow’s pre-approved statement included the press release stopped short of admitting to actually eating the product, which she holds several feet from her pursed mouth in the print campaign. But she did try it.

Bio-goulash and/or several other vegan and vegetarian options were reportedly “tasted” by the actress while shooting the campaign. “They are a real healthy alternative if you want to quickly serve something,” she says “enthusiastically,” according to SPAR.
Paltrow is always befuddled by her detractors, but it’s this kind of stuff that makes her an easy target. She has a problem preaching too much of what she practices. Now she’s got a problem practicing what she preaches, promoting a product she’d clearly never buy herself.
After years of making other moms with less time and cash flow feel guilty about ordering a pizza, she’s not likely to get a free pass.
Still a job is a job is a job, and when celebrities promote an international product, they tend to lower their standards and raise their rates.
Hey, remember that wood burning outdoor pizza oven she bought for her garden? It’s not going to pay for itself.

Top 10 Dark Knight Rises Controversies

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

The Dark Knight Rises is still five months away, and yet, it already looks to be the most controversial movie of the year. Of course, in this case, controversy is a good thing, because it means people are highly anticipating the movie and care about every little detail. We’ve compiled a list of the Top 10 Dark Knight Rises Controversies. Just a warning, some might consider some of the information below to be mild spoilers, but there’s likely nothing that even the casual Batman fan doesn’t already know.

10. The Dark Knight Rises Sells Out – At least that’s what the headlines read, as Dark Knight Rises tickets for three different IMAX theaters went on sale more than six months before the movie’s release date. The New York AMC IMAX sold out very quickly, which led to the sell out headlines, which should whip Batman fans into a frenzy to check Fandango every day, so they don’t risk not being able to get into the movie on opening night in their area.

9. No Super Bowl Commercial – Warner Bros. did not buy any Super Bowl air time. The Dark Knight Rises has a collapsing football field and Hines Ward scoring a touchdown, and Warner Bros. didn’t think it was a good idea to promote the movie during the Super Bowl. Ok, so maybe it was a good cost-savings move by a movie that’s already going to be the biggest movie of the year, but still, we would have liked to have seen a Dark Knight Rises trailer during the Super Bowl. Avengers gained some steam with a Super Bowl trailer, and Amazing Spider-Man scored big with an event the day after the Super Bowl, but news on The Dark Knight Rises has been rather quiet lately.

8. Mystery Villainess – When Marion Cotillard was evasive about what role she was playing in The Dark Knight Rises, the speculation started running wild that she would be playing Talia al Ghul. Her official role in the film is listed as a board member for Wayne Enterprises named Miranda Tate, but no one’s buying it. Further adding to the Marion Cotillard as Talia al Ghul speculation is that young actress Joey King recently revealed that she would be playing a young Talia al Ghul.

7. Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman Suit – When the first photo of Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman suit was released, some in the media were decidedly underwhelmed. What are those weird looking goggles? Where are the ears? How can you have a Catwoman suit without the ears? Turns out the weird looking goggles flip-up to create the look of ears.

6. Occupy Wall Street Similarities – Speaking of Anne Hathaway, her character Selina Kyle created quite a stir with her comments to Bruce Wayne in the second trailer. Kyle said, “You really think this is going to last? There’s a storm coming Mr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits you’re all going to wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.” These words kind of reminded everyone of the Occupy Wall Street movement, but Christopher Nolan cleared things up by pointing to A Tale Of Two Cities as his inspiration for The Dark Knight Rises not the occupy movement.

5. Robin References – First there was the Robin logo on a sign in the crowd at the football game, then there was the name Ward on the back of a jersey, and finally there was someone who looks like Joseph Gordon-Levitt wearing a Robin type mask at Bruce Wayne’s masquerade ball. Of course, you say the word Robin and you get immediate controversy. For everyone finding a clue, there was someone else with an explanation. The Robin logo was done by an extra, the football jersey signifies Hines Ward and is not a homage to Burt Ward who played Robin, and no one knows for sure if it’s really Joseph Gordon-Levitt at the masquerade ball.

4. Batman Gets His Back Broken – So since the villain is Bane, that means Batman is going to get his back broken, right? In the second trailer, glimpses of Bruce Wayne walking with a cane seem to give credence to the possibility that the Bat does indeed get broken.

3. Superman References – Marvel Studios has built an Avengers franchise by allowing their characters to crossover in various movies, so why wouldn’t Warner Bros. do the same thing for the Justice League. The first Dark Knight Rises poster had a blurred image that looked suspiciously like the Superman logo, and there is a Man of Steel movie in the works. While many fervently deny any visions of Superman in The Dark Knight Rises, it wouldn’t be surprising if there was some type of easter egg in the film to get the buzz going about the Man of Steel.

2. Batman Dies – When the second Dark Knight Rises poster was released with the words “The Legend Ends,” many in the press took it quite literally. Speculation went from Batman getting his back broken to Batman actually dying. Christian Bale has already gone on record saying that he’s worn the Batman suit for the last time. While this likely just means he’s done with the role since this is Nolan’s last time directing, some have taken it as supporting the theory that Batman dies in The Dark Knight Rises.

1. Bane’s Voice – How could we not pick this one as the top controversy? While many might claim Christopher Nolan made a huge mistake with Bane’s muffled voice in The Dark Knight Rises prologue, we call it a stroke of genius. Bane’s voice has inspired numerous YouTube parodies and even barbs from late night comedians. In other words, it’s kept The Dark Knight Rises in the spotlight.

Ben to kill Heather in EastEnders?

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

EastEnders’ beloved Heather Trott could be killed off by Ben Mitchell, according to reports.

The troubled teen, played by Joshua Pascoe, will apparently turn into a cold-blooded murderer after a heated row with the mother-of-one played by Cheryl Fergison at her flat.

Ben’s dad Phil, who is thought to destroy evidence to protect his son, is suspected of committing the murder by girlfriend Shirley Carter, with a number of other Walford residents also finding themselves under suspicion as Heather’s murder sends shockwaves through Albert Square.

An EastEnders spokesperson commented: “Heather’s life will go through various twists and turns over the next couple of months which will place numerous people in the frame.”

Cheryl’s exit from the BBC One soap was confirmed last September, with EastEnders bosses saying that her current contract had come to a natural end.

Heather, who first appeared on screens in June 2007, will be immortalised in soap history as the hapless cleaner who loves cheese, karaoke and George Michael. She had a son George, named after her favourite music idol, with then teenager Darren Miller (Charlie G Hawkins).

Whitney Houston Funeral: Bobby Brown Leaves Early Over Seating Dispute

Update (ET Online): Bobby Brown released the following statement to ET Online: “My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) – Whitney Houston‘s ex-husband, Bobby Brown, has briefly appeared at her funeral before leaving.

Brown arrived as the service began. He walked to the casket, touched it and walked to the back of the New Jersey church Saturday.

Security guards were saying Brown would be seated but the people he arrived with had to sit apart from him. Instead, Brown left and appeared upset.

A message seeking confirmation of whether Brown was invited to the private service was sent to Houston’s publicist.

Perry Fenwick: ‘Danielle’s a cheeky so-and-so’

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Perry Fenwick has joked that his EastEnders co-star Danielle Harold is as ‘cheeky’ as her soap alter ego.

The 49-year-old plays Billy Mitchell, who is kept on his toes by granddaughter Lola Pearce, and he told Inside Soap that the 19-year-old actress teases him off-screen too.

“She can be a cheeky little so-and-so, can Dan,” he laughed.

“One of the cameramen was talking to me about my role in Mona Lisa (the 1986 film) the other day, and Danielle piped up, ‘Was that in black and white?’”
But Perry said he loves working with Danielle, whose character is currently pregnant.

“The way she’s come on since her first day has been amazing,” he said. “Danielle reminds me a lot of Lacey (Turner) – she’s such a cracking little actress.”

The actor also insisted Billy would be up to the challenge of being a great-grandfather when Lola’s baby arrives this summer.

“A baby story can go one of about 20 ways, so who knows what’ll happen. But Billy will be by Lola’s side,” he said.

‘Little People, Big World’ Stars “Sad” Over Rosie O’Donnell’s Comment

Little People, Big World' Stars "Sad" Over Rosie O'Donnell's "Mild Fear of Little People" Comment

During a recent interview with Chelsea Handler on The Rosie ShowRosie O'Donnell confessed she has a "mild fear or anxiety around little people." On the Today show this morning, TLC'sLittle People, Big World stars Matthew and Amy Roloff spoke out, saying the comments made them "sad."

It all started when Rosie brought up Chelsea's co-host Chuy, who is a little person, on Chelsea Lately. While Chelsea said she loves little people, Rosie said she's afraid of them.

"I'm a little ashamed about it [but] I have a mild fear or anxiety around little people," Rosie said. She then asked Chelsea, "Would you ever do a little person?"

"No, that would be child abuse," Chelsea said. "I'd never do that."

Rosie explained, "That's half my issue. The problem with me is I can't put the two things together. This is an adult person, a little person…it's so hard for me."

Well, Matt and Amy decided to have their family on a reality show in hopes they could help change the way little people were perceived. So, the couple explained on Today that the comments made them disappointed.

"We've still got work to do and there's still people out there that are afraid of little people and having fears," Matt explained on Today. "But I think we've made a ton of progress, and I think our show has just been one of many. A lot of people have done a lot of work over the years."

And Amy said that Rosie's attitude is one that they've encountered.

"Yeah, it really is. It has been an attitude," she said. "To think of yourself in one way and to have someone else think of you that way, it plays on you. I was taken back. I was sad, really to hear that from someone."

"But you know, like Matt and I have talked about, it does give us an opportunity to validate what we have done and what other little people have done," Amy added. "There's still work to do. You're never going to get rid of it, totally. But if we can continue to open that door up more, I think it's great."

Nick Cotton favourite to return

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Nick Cotton is bookies’ favourite to be the next character to return to EastEnders.

Since it was announced on Thursday that Letitia Dean would be reprising her role as Sharon Watts in the BBC1 soap,

Nasty Nick has been given odds of 2/1 from bookmakers Paddy Power to return to Walford.

Dot’s son Nick played by John Altman has been a recurring character since the soap’s very first episode in February 1985.

He was last seen fleeing Walford in 2009 after surviving an explosion at the cafe, following a plot to poison his long-suffering mother.

Second favourites to return to the soap are Sonia Fowler, played by Natalie Cassidy, and Sam Mitchell, played by Danniella Westbrook, who are both set at 5/1.

‘Little Mo’ Mitchell, played by Kacey Ainsworth, is at 10/1 and Ronnie Mitchell, played by Samantha Womack, has odds of 12/1.

Michelle Ryan is 16/1 to return as Zoe Slater, while long-gone Lofty Holloway, played by Tom Watt, is an outsider at 40/1.

Michael French recently returned to the soap for a brief stint as David Wicks for the exit storyline of Pam St Clement – Walford matriarch Pat Evans.

Nick Berry – who played his brother Simon Wicks from 1985 to 1990 – made a surprise appearance at Pat’s graveside, after her funeral.

New Emma Watson Interview

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Emma Watson looks surprisingly grown-up, I think, when I meet her at the Savoy Hotel.

Reclining on a plush cream sofa with short, slicked hair and red lips, wearing a fitted black cocktail dress, she is every inch the sophisticated socialite. Poor Emma Watson, I then counter immediately, having constantly to prove to people like me that she isn’t 11-years-old any more.

Her new role as the face of Lancôme’s “Rouge in Love” lipstick range will go some way towards changing that view ? shot by Mario Testino, the campaign captures her youthful vitality in a new and chic, gamine expression. It’s rather more urbane and quite apart from the reputation for precociousness that the Harry Potter franchise ? fairly or not ? has foisted upon her.

“As I’ve got older, and since I cut all my hair off, I’ve felt a bit more liberated about trying different things out,” she smiles, when I suggest she has successfully shaken off the fetters of having played a gawky teenage witch for a decade. “I think there’s this idea that lipstick is something quite old or something you’d only wear at night. The nice thing about these is that they’re really translucent, like a tinted lip balm, so you can wear them in a more casual way.”

If she sounds like a professional, that’s because she has been one for the majority of her 21 years. Picked from thousands to play Hermione Granger at the age of nine, after eight auditions for producer David Heyman, Watson is now ? eight films later ? rumoured to be worth £43m. She signed a contract with Lancôme in April to feature in the commercial for its Trésor Midnight Rose fragrance, and has been at Selfridges all day to promote the brand’s latest launch of lipstick and nail varnish.

“Make-up is actually something I’ve always really loved,” she continues. “The hair and make-up department on the Potter films were the people who saw me first thing in the morning and last thing at night, so that space was somewhere I felt at home. When we had spare time on set, I’d do their make-up and get them to teach me how to do stuff.” Make-up artist on the films Amanda Knight remembers Watson making up extras for crowd scenes, too, but Watson has today left it to the professionals. “I haven’t had my make-up done for two or three months,” she says, as if expecting me to say, “No way!” I raise my eyebrows and she laughs. “I know! But it’s really weird for me because I used to have it done every day. So it felt like a treat today.”

She refers regularly to privileges and treats, to feeling lucky and counting her blessings, and she doesn’t seem troubled or distracted by the host of opportunities available to her. She is studying English at Oxford, on a secondment from the American Ivy League campus Brown.

“It’s just given me time, really,” she says. “People use their time at university and at school, which I didn’t have, to really think about and figure out what they want to do, and who they want to be. And it’s been so nice not to be pushed around or pushed into doing things.”

In fact, Watson has carefully peppered her career with choices that pertain very closely to her own interests, putting her name to a collection for eco-fashion range People Tree as well as partnering with designer Alberta Ferretti to work on a “Pure Threads” ethical line too. Her next film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, will be released later this year. She paints and reads books. She has, she tells me guiltily, a university essay to hand in the next day, not yet finished.

“Doing the Potters was such a bubble,” she says, “and then having to figure out how to function in the real world has been a challenge. But it’s been the small successes for me: I know how to use a washing machine, I can cook. It’s worth it to me not to feel disconnected from everything, feeling like I’m in touch with people who do other things than acting or being in the entertainment industry.”

In a few hours, she will host the Lancôme pre-Baftas party, posing in a crimson lace Valentino dress for the world’s cameras. But for the moment, she has her bare feet hooked up underneath her and is fiddling with her BlackBerry; she looks at the basil plant poking out of my shopping bag and wonders what I’m having for dinner. She is terribly normal ? if elfishly beautiful ? in her rendition of a well-brought-up young woman.

“I think humour has been a help,” she says. “I have schoolfriends, a group of people around me, who have carried me through this whole experience and aren’t fazed if they ask, ‘Oh what are you doing tomorrow?’ and I say, ‘I’m going up to see Mario [Testino] in Notting Hill, he’s shooting me for the new Lancôme campaign.’ I don’t know ? it is mad, and some days I feel a bit mad, but it’s the balance that keeps me sane. I don’t fully live it, this side of my life.”

Watson is sanguine about the attention she receives and is logical about it; she plans to travel more now that she has a more lax schedule, and talks about going to the post office, buying milk, getting the Tube, though I can’t believe for a minute that she is actually able to do these things fuss-free. “Some days, for some reason, I can’t go anywhere and I’m like, ‘That was a mistake,’ and other days no one will even notice me.”

There was a time, though, towards the end of the Potter franchise, when Watson came of age and began appearing on front rows at shows such as Chanel and Burberry, in whose billboard campaigns she featured along with her younger brother in 2009. “I was fully game for ‘Throw me in this, throw me in that,’” she admits, “but I’d like to develop my own sense of style, and dress for myself. The press destroyed me over this Rodarte dress I once wore ? it was bright blue with chains on it.” She laughs and shivers slightly. “I loved it. And I wore a leather Christopher Kane dress with embroidered flowers all over it. It wasn’t that crazy, but at the time…”

She seems to have ridden out the post-Potter publicity admirably, though. “Fashion gave me a chance to feel like I was something outside of Potter,” she explains, of her appearances front row at shows such as Chanel and Burberry. “I’m a multidimensional person and that’s the freedom of fashion: that you’re able to reinvent yourself through how you dress and how you cut your hair or whatever.”

Her haircut was, of course, an international sensation, and turned into a global debate. Was it a good idea, did she regret it, why did she do it? Watson faced compliments and criticism in equal measure, staggeringly so. This was more than the average celeb ‘do and more like a cultural event: Potter fans were horrified, while the fashion industry discreetly applauded the severing of Hermione’s bookish locks.

“I had journalists asking me if this meant I was coming out, if I was a lesbian now.” She rolls her eyes. “That haircut did make me realise how subjective everyone’s opinion is. Some people were crazy for it and some people just thought I’d lost my shit. All I can do is follow my instincts, because I’ll never please everyone.”

Rita Simons: I couldn’t let Roxy betray Ronnie

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

EastEnder actress Rita Simons has said she could never allow her alter ego Roxy Mitchell to betray her sister Ronnie by stealing her husband.

Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Rita said that while Roxy may re-ignite her affair with Jack Branning, played by Scott Maslen, she has to first believe that her screen sister has moved on.

“Ronnie has filed for divorce from Jack, so I have to believe that she doesn’t love him any more,” Rita explained.

“If I didn’t think that, I wouldn’t be able to play out the storyline.

“It’s Jack who persuades Roxy to stay and I’m sure that she has a few feelings of guilt. But if I didn’t absolutely believe Ronnie was over Jack, I’d hate my own character.”

The pair are also set to become entangled in a bitter custody battle over baby Amy. However Rita added that she thinks they could actually make things work as a family if the circumstances were different.

“I think Jack and Roxy would secretly both like to have a nice little nuclear family,” the actress admitted. “I know it sounds weird but Roxy is actually quite fond of Jack.

“They have a lot of history together, and she doesn’t hate him – I think she pities him more than anything.

“Maybe if their feuding families could stay out of their lives, they might stand a good chance!”

ASAP Rocky: Harlem Rapper Says Homophobia in Hip-Hop Is ‘Retarded’

ASAP RockyBrock Fetch

Harlem rapper ASAP Rocky has been making power moves since dropping his ‘LiveLoveA$AP’ mixtape last Halloween.

The videos for ‘Peso‘ and ‘Purple Swag‘ are nearing a combined eight million views and ‘LiveLoveA$AP’ has proven so popular his record label has sent him back into the studio to re-record the whole thing professional-like.

Musically, the 23-year-old’s dexterous east coast-meets-Houston-chopped-’n'-screwed vibe is proving to be a fresh new angle for hip-hop heads. What might be just as interesting is the man born Rakim Mayers’ willingness to question some of the macho standards of conventional hip-hop. Particularly when it comes to homosexuality.

“I don’t give a f— about your business,” ASAP Rocky tells Spinner. “Man, if you’re gay we can be friends. If you’re straight, we can be friends. I’m not gay, I don’t plan on being gay, I don’t condone it and I’m not sayin’ I’m against it. I really don’t give a f— and I don’t think anyone should care about what another man’s preference is… unless he’s interested, if you know what I’m sayin’.”

Audrina Patridge’s Curve Appeal Sin City Sexiness

Bringing her sexiness to Sin City, Audrina Patridge was the center of attention at PURE Nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night (February 18).

Tending to her duties as face of the brand, the former “Hills” hottie showed off her fabulous figure as she celebrated the launch of Curve Appeal for Men at the Caesars Palace Resort and Casino nightclub.

Tweeting throughout her Vegas visit, Audrina wrote, “Goodtimes tonight…. Saw lots of Stunna shades #vegaslife,” adding, “I’m going to learn how to play craps today!!… Wish me luck:) xoxo”

In related news, Miss Patridge recently chimed in her thoughts on the possibility of NFL quarterback Tim Tebow voicing his desire to compete on the ABC competition series “Dancing with the Stars”.

“I think he would do amazing,? she told Celebuzz. ?He?s obviously an awesome football player so he wouldn?t have a problem with being driven or competitive. That?s a great start.?

The 26-year-old also spoke about how she thinks one of her former MTV male co-stars should show off their dancefloor moves, as she dished, ?Kristin [Cavallari] and I did it so it would be nice to see one of the guys get out there. We would never see them dance when we would go out so that would be interesting to watch. For a guy, they just need to loosen up, be light on their feet, and just have fun with it. Don?t take it too serious.?

Watch out Essex, Maria Fowler is back in town

Don?t panic it?s not forever, she?s just back for a night on the tiles.  You may remember the rather mouthy TOWIE star left Essex to move to Scotland for her footballer boyfriend Lee Croft. She did threaten to come back for nights out and she?s done exactly that.

We should have known we?d see her that evening, after she tweeted earlier in the day: ‘Just boarding plane to London.. Weekend of work and fun ahead.. Although gutted I’m missing my mans game on Sunday.. Will watch on sky tho x’

Despite living in Scotland now and probably being used to very cold temperatures, she still made no effort to keep warm as she went bar hopping. Neither did Jessica Wright who was also there. We didn?t know those two were friend, did you?

The twins Dino and Georgio were also there, posing for a few pictures and looking as cheery as usual.  We notice no one else from the show bothered to come and see her. Not missing Maria much guys? Nah we?re not either, she was after all just an ?extra?, right Kirk?

Danielle Harold: ‘No one saw me on Jamie’s show’

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Danielle Harold has admitted she was concerned about how her new EastEnders co-stars might view her after her stint on Jamie’s Dream School.

Before the young actress landed the role of Lola Pearce on the BBC1 show she appeared on Jamie Oliver’s fly-on-the-wall documentary about teenage tearaways struggling with the education system.

Danielle said of her colleagues on the soap: “I don’t think much of them watched (Jamie’s Dream School) which was probably a good thing.

They asked me what I’d done before and I was like, ‘Jamie’s Dream School, did you see that?’ But it’s been great, I’ve had a great year.”

The star admitted she still can’t get over her luck at being part of the show – and insisted she’s nothing like her feisty character, who’s currently embroiled in a pregnancy storyline.

“That’s what makes it such fun to play, she’s so different from me. It’s really fun just to not care about anything,” she added.

“I get recognised a lot too. You never expect to, but it happens in the weirdest places, in Sainsbury’s when I’m food shopping. I still can’t believe my luck now, it’s just really strange, really surreal.”

Robert Pattinson Handsomely Premieres Bel Ami in Berlin

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Robert Pattinson hit the red carpet this evening for the Berlin Film Festival premiere of his Bel Ami. He joined up with leading ladies Holliday Grainger and Christina Ricci in front of the assembled photographers. The trio were out today earlier as well for their Bel Ami press conference. During the morning chat, Robert discussed playing a bad guy in the movie, his character, Georges. Robert also talked about how he’s changed since first reading the script and making the movie in 2010, in addition to how the project differs from his Twilight series. Robert said:

  • On why he decided to do the movie: “It’s funny, the structure of Bel Ami and the character of Georges really rarely comes up in movies anymore because he’s completely unrepentant, and normally a movie has to teach somebody a lesson nowadays. It was quite fun playing that.”
  • On how he’s changed since shooting the movie in 2010: “I read the script a long time ago. I was pretty young. I think I’ve changed a little bit. I kind of understood that. You create an empire just so you can sh– on someone else. I think I’ve grown up a little bit. I’m not as horrible.”
  • On how the audiences should differ from Twilight to Bel Ami: “I guess my responsibility, I think, it’s not necessarily to give anything back other than try and do the best work you can. You get an audience for doing certain jobs, so I think the biggest disservice you can do to your audience is trying to repeat the same thing and to come just to get money or whatever. If a Twilight audience would come watch Bel Ami, it’s a movie that I wouldn’t have thought that audience would go to, so I think that in some way, it’s kind of doing a service to someone. I felt like I learned a lot from it.”

Fashion designers need to stop blaming models for the industry’s anorexia problem

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Fashion Week, the glitzy annual fashion festival in New York, starts today. And the Council of Fashion Designers of America has responded to the annual furor over anorexic models with a health initiative and editorials that claim to address the problem — but really just shift blame from the fashion industry to the models.

The council's new guidelines encourage greater awareness of eating disorders, urge models to seek professional help if they have a problem, and call for organizers to have healthy snacks available backstage. In addition, the standards say models should be at least 16 to participate in a show.

What the guidelines don’t do is endorse the most obvious solution: for designers to make larger sample sizes. Sample sizes are the prototypes that models wear in shows, and they are growing vanishingly skimpy. Instead, the basic thrust of the guidelines is that models just need to do a better job managing the demands of being unrealistically thin.

An editorial on the CFDA site co-written by council president and veteran fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg acknowledges there's a lot of pressure from the industry to be thin, but still places most of the blame on models.

"Some models have difficulty maintaining the body ideal as they move into adulthood," it reads, "and run the risk of engaging in unhealthy eating behaviors that lead to eating disorders." Furthermore, "No single influence is responsible for the development of eating disorders. Genetics, neurochemistry, personality, weight- conscious occupations, and sociocultural factors all play a role in the etiology of these illnesses."

The old tried-and-true victim-blaming game is alive and well in the fashion industry. Does the council really think that the rampant problem among their models is caused, as is first on their list, by "genetics?" Or, even more insulting, "personality?" Or that models are the key to changing the problem?

Note to the fashion industry: Do you know what causes eating disorders? Not eating. And do you know why models don't eat? Because your sample sizes would make a broomstick look fat. Because you won't hire them if they don't take drastic measures to remain rail-thin. And if you don't hire them, they have no job.

If the council had true, heartfelt concern, models would hardly be mentioned in the initiative. The leader of the fashion world control the industry. They can create real change. While their ideas such as "an Ambassador Program aimed at helping young models develop the tools to meet the challenges they face" may have good intentions, it's not enough. It will never be enough.

Quit blaming the models. Mandate larger sample sizes for shows. Cast models who have curves and aren't a haircut past being little girls, and do it consistently, not just for the occasional good-P.R. grab. If you are a fashion publisher, don't run shots of women who are unhealthily thin. And, if you're a model, don't accept the blame.

Sexy David Henrie on His Career

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Thanks to the wildly successful Wizards of Waverly Place, David Henrie became an international star at a young age. And with those Disney days in the rear-view, David is looking at his career with new, mature eyes. But don't expect to see him half-naked (damn it), smoking crack or covered in tattoos — on the big screen or in real life — since David is singularly focused on establishing a life-long career and has no interest in shocking simply to shock.

This weekend, his first post-Wizards project hits theaters — The Secret World of Arrietty — and I caught up with the actor to talk about the stunning animated adventure, his future films and professional inspirations. I also had to take the chance to find out if he actually knows the ending to How I Met Your Mother.

What attracted you to this project?
I was so impressed by what the studio had done in the past — they've made some really good films. What I liked in particular about this one is that it's a classic tale — everyone's heard stories about little people taking things from your house — but then I watched the Japanese version of the movie and realized I didn't know so much about it, so it became this cinematic experience. The movie is beautiful, visual and at the same time had a very heartfelt message: it doesn't matter how little you are, the doesn't measure the size of your heart. I think that's a really great message for everyone to take away.

Sounds like the fans you amassed doing Wizards of Waverly Place certainly will. What's it been like not going to work on that show every day since it came to an end in January?
It's so strange. When you do a show from the time you're 16 years old, you not only grow to know and love your co-stars, but all the people behind the scenes. I miss seeing all those people, but at the same time, I was excited to move on. Although I've been working since I was little, I feel like the end of Wizards opened up a whole new chapter of my life and I was excited to do [Arrietty] and also the next movie I have, Little Boy. It's really the complete antithesis of anything I've ever done.

Is that the goal with all your post-Wizards projects – to transition into cinematic adulthood?
Absolutely. I love how Shia LaBeouf, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling all did it. They are very talented, take what they do very seriously and are passionate about their medium – that's something I share as well. I am going to work hard to succeed but won't shun the audience Disney has so generously provided me with.

So you won't be choosing some scandalous project just so you can have sex or do drugs in order to "seem more adult?"
No, no, no, not at all. First and foremost it has to be appealing. If it's something I don't agree with, then I would never do it just for shock value. With Little Boy, my character is completely different than Justin Russo, but it's a work of art. It's about an 8-year-old boy who thinks that if he has enough faith in God, he can bring his dad back from WWII. Intellectually, it really deals with the question of faith and I got to work with all these Oscar-winning actors. It's something fans will never expect from me. I'm excited to move on but bring the audience with me throughout my career.

It's funny because while you are growing up, How I Met Your Mother has kind of frozen you and Lyndsy Fonseca in time. Is it true that when you guys filmed that opening in 2005, you also filmed scenes for the series finale so it made chronological sense?
That is true. Yup! Everyone always drills my brain for that. It was just me, Lyndsy and the two showrunners. They rolled the cameras and literally evacuated set. Once everyone left and it was just us four, they told us what they thought would happen. We shot it and signed our lives away, so I won't be disclosing anything, but we shot what could be the ending to the show.

Without risking your life, do you think fans will be happy with the ending?
100 percent! It's a great ending to the show. It's solid and well thought out from the very beginning. We'll see if they end up going with it, but I think fans would really appreciate the ending.
